FACILITATION HOME

Facilitation task and team:

The facilitator or team includes specialists in how groups work together, as distinct from being experts on particular subject content. As facilitators we are here to help with the design of effective meetings (face to face or virtual) for the organization.

Our job as facilitators is to take care of the process so that participants can focus on the content of a meeting or other communication avenues provided. Facilitation strives to remove process issues; again, enabling participants to focus on substantive content and increase efficiency and creativity in the dialogue. Many of our professional neutral facilitators are also professional mediators allowing them to leverage these unique skills when deemed helpful to the process and project goals.

Meeting design:

The facilitation process design varies depending on the goals of the meeting(s). Some meetings present information and gather formal feedback (community, government hearings etc.), while other meetings are designed to explore options and make decisions including organizational strategic planning. The nature of the goals and the number of participants along with the unique relationships they hold to each other will drive the design process.

•  We will meet with key personnel from your organization to understand your needs and initiate a design process that incorporates the resources that you have.

•  We will work with your personnel to assure that clean, clear presentation material will be available.

•  We are available to provide executive summaries and detailed notes on any meeting(s).

•  Our neutral facilitation team will assure a high level of integrity and transparency.

Decision making:

If you desire to reduce decision arbitrariness, increase useful meeting structure, increase follow through, widen agreement, reach meeting goals, develop meaningful decision criteria, and increase creativity than professional facilitation is for you.

A professional facilitator will support a structured process that assures the dialogue is focused, efficient, and all relevant information is leveraged.

Recent facilitation projects:

  • City Council & staff budget prioritizations
  • County Wide Telecommunication Land Use Planning Regulations
  • Planning department community zoning hearings
  • Home Owners Associations
  • Board of Director meetings
  • Organizational Strategic Planning Meetings
  • Environmental hearings
  • Special use permit meetings

Facilitation costs:

The expense of a professional facilitator is far outweighed by increased meeting efficiency, productiveness and improved quality outcome.
